Bio-Lax is a combination of senna leaves and cascara sagrada in a base of rhubarb root, licorice root, and cloves.
Bio-Lax helps the body to eliminate simple constipation. The action comes from the active alkaloid in the senna and cascara sagrada which stimulate action of the digestive tract and pull water and toxins from the body to aid in lubrication and softening of the stool.

It facilitates digestion, and helps strengthen the digestive system, colon, liver, and gallbladder. The natural constituents found in cascara sagrada stimulate secretion of digestive fluids, increase the flow of bile, and cleanse the intestines.

Rhubarb generates a purgative action in the bowels, and also has an astringent effect, which makes it an effective way to clean the gut, and enables it to be used to treat both constipation and diarrhea.
Senna contains senosides, which irritate the intestinal lining, causing peristaltic action and bowel evacuation. Historically, senna has also been used to treat inflammatory skin conditions, hypertension, and obesity.
